Life insurance provides important financial protection for you and your family.
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Ancestry provides you with a base level of employee life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost to you. This coverage provides a benefit of three times your salary, rounded to the next highest $1,000, up to $350,000.
Voluntary Term Life Insurance
To supplement the coverage provided by Ancestry, you can purchase additional term life insurance for yourself as well as voluntary life coverage for your spouse and children.
You can choose coverage from one to seven times your annual compensation (rounded to the next $25,000), up to $1 million.
If the amount you request is more than $250,000, you’ll be required to provide evidence of insurability (EOI).
This coverage is tied to your employment with Ancestry and typically ends if you leave the company. In some cases, you may be able to retain this coverage with the same insurance carrier after you leave Ancestry.
Spouse/Domestic Partner Coverage
If you enrolled in employee coverage, you can purchase spouse or domestic partner term life coverage in $25,000 increments, up to $250,000.
If the amount of coverage you request is more than $50,000, you’ll be required to provide evidence of insurability (EOI).
You may not enroll for spouse or domestic partner term life coverage if you are an Ancestry employee and enrolled for employee term life coverage.
If you enrolled in employee coverage, you can purchase child term life insurance as follows:
- Birth to 6 months: $1,000
- Age 6 months or older: $5,000 increments, up to $10,000
- Monthly cost is $2.40
